To become a member, download the app and fill out your profile following all the steps. We review applications daily and follow up if more info is needed.

We want to make sure each profile is personal, thorough, and informative. That way, every chance is a meaningful introduction.

We launch new cities once they reach 150 members. You can track your city’s progress after creating your profile and becoming a member.

We aim to keep membership prices affordable — roughly the cost of breakfast. You can choose between weekly, monthly, or annual memberships. In the US, a monthly membership costs $17. To check your local pricing, visit the App Store or Google Play.

Membership unlocks the slider on the home screen so you can join daily chancing rounds and get introduced to another member in your city at 11 AM.

You’ll get access to all 34 cities where we’re live, full chat access, and every Sunday BRIOCHE will suggest three new members in your city to discover.

We developed an algorithm called BRIOCHE (Breakfast Integrated Ongoing Chances Estimation) to find chances tailored to your profile. Everything you share helps us get to know you better and connect you with people you’ll truly enjoy meeting. The more you share, the deeper and more relevant your connections will be.

Every day at 11 AM, BRIOCHE introduces you to one interesting person in your city. If you’re both interested, you can move to chat and plan your breakfast. It’s simple, low-pressure, and made to help you meet in real life, over breakfast.

The Breakfast is all about quality interaction with real people: we believe in showing up, not swiping.

That’s why every day you get the opportunity to take a chance on someone new. Take it or pass it on — no pressure!

You’re in control. Once we connect you with another member, you’ll have 24 hours to start the chat and make plans. It doesn’t have to be the next day. Just share a few days and times that work for you, along with a place you’d like to go to. That’s usually all it takes to start the conversation.

Thanks to our members, we also have a growing list of the best breakfast places in each city. You can explore our recommendations in the app and pick from there.

The Breakfast was conceptualized in 2018 by us, Eteri and Lisa. We wanted to create a social app that wasn’t about dating or networking, but instead was about people and conversations.

Today, our small and passionate team is redesigning how people meet and connect in the modern world. We’re headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, but our team is spread across the world.

We built The Breakfast to connect people through real conversations, in real life, over breakfast. No swiping. No pitches. No pressure of dating or transactional networking. Because the real magic happens when two people talk and no one expects anything from each other.

Because dinner sounds like a date, and lunch sounds like a work meeting. Breakfast is usually just that — breakfast.
